Wimbledon organizers have appealed and reduced a $1 million fine imposed by the WTA following the exclusion of Russian and Belarusian players from the 2022 edition.
LTA fine of $750,000 halved
Last year, the WTA fined British tennis organizers $1 million: $750,000 for the LTA and $250,000 for the All England Lawn Tennis Club, which hosts Wimbledon and is the winner of the tournament in Birmingham.
And the ATP dictated a fine of one million dollars to the British, also for not accepting Russian and Belarusian athletes.
The LTA appealed the WTA fine and got the fine halved to $375,000, according to News.ro.
The decision comes after the LTA ruled this year that athletes from Russia and Belarus could compete in British tournaments.
