Romania postponed qualification for the final tournament of the Billie Jean King Cup (formerly FedCup) after Ana Bohdan was defeated by Tamara Zidansek in the third Romanian-Slovenian match.

Romania – Slovenia 2-1 in the Billie Jean King Cup

After defeating Kaya Juvan 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 on Friday, Ana Bohdan (58 WTA) lost to Tamari Zidansek (102 WTA) in three sets, 6-3, 6(4)-7, 5 -7.

The former Roland Garros 2021 semifinalist lost her match against Jacqueline Christian 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 on Friday.

The Slovenian started better in the first set, in which she led to 3-3, but Ana Bohdan made a great comeback in the match and managed to take advantage.

In the second set, the Romanian was leading, Zidansek came back and managed to reach the tiebreak, which he won 7-4.

In the deciding set, Ana Bohdan led 5-2, but the Slovenian overturned the result, winning five games in a row.

The game lasted 3 hours and seven minutes.
