The match of the 4th stage of the CFR Cluj-Sepsi playoffs is scheduled for Saturday, April 15, at 19:00 at the Dr. Constantin Redulescu Stadium and will be broadcast live on Digi Sport 1, Orange Sport 1 and Prima Sport 1.
CFR Cluj and Sepsi open the 4th stage of the playoffs with a match that promises to be particularly interesting, even if the goals of the two teams are different.
CFR Cluj is in 2nd place with 35 points, four less than leaders Farul and one more than the next ranked FCSB, the three teams that are going to fight for the Romanian title.
Transylvania are yet to win in the playoffs, where they have drawn three as many matches despite leading each time, 2-2 with Rapid and 1-1 with FCSB, both at home, and 1-1 with Craiova University away.
“We have three good matches, but few points. You don’t win a championship without points. We have the most goals, we attack, we want to win. Morale should be good even though we are four points behind Beacon. I don’t know if there will be only three matches, let’s see if Craiova and Rapid give up,” said Dan Petrescu, coach of CFR Cluj.
Sepsi are 6th, last in the playoffs, with 24 points, ten behind 3rd placed FCSB and five behind 4th placed Universitatea Craiova .
Cristiano Bergodi’s team is coming off a 2-0 home win against Rapid, the first in the play-offs after defeats against Farul, 1-2 away, and FCSB, 1-2 at home, but the main goal remains to win the Romanian Cup.
“I am sure that we are making a good impression with the CFR Cluj. Let the press write and let us win 1-0. I really think we can make a surprise in Cluj-Napoca, the players are determined to do their best. There’s no way we’re going to be the bane of the playoffs like we were four years ago. I’m sure we’ll score more than seven points,” said Laszlo Diosegy, Sepsi’s boss.
Sepsi and CFR Cluj will also meet in the semi-finals of the Romanian Cup, most likely on April 26 (official date yet to be announced), in a one-off match at St. George’s Stadium.
In the regular season on October 17, 2022, CFR Cluj beat Sepsi at home with a score of 2:1 (Yuri 33, Muhar 84 respectively, Chobotariu 27), and in the return match on March 6, 2023, at Sf.Gheorghe, the result should be equal 2-2 (Tamash 10, Safranco 73, respectively, Yuriy 31, Dzhanga 36).
Superbet offers odds of 1.80 on the PsFX prediction: a draw at halftime or at the end of the match CFR Cluj – Sepsi.
