Cornel Dean has been sick since Wednesday

At the age of 74, Cornell Dean had been unwell since Wednesday and was rushed to Floreasca Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery on Thursday evening.

He also gave an interview to Fanatik in which he stated that his condition is stable.

At the hospital, a gastroscopy and colonoscopy were performed, which revealed certain problems in the large intestine responsible for Cornell Dean’s hemorrhage.

On Friday, the Dynamo legend was transferred to the reserve.

“I was lucky with my friend Gabriel Constantinescu. He came yesterday at 10pm especially for me, after a whole day of consultations, to examine me and then operate. He is the best gastroenterologist in Romania.

He also did my first colonoscopy in 2009. Gabi is a great guy, he is an exceptional doctor. The whole of Romania knows him. A great speedster.

He explained to me that 10% of these problems are related to the esophagus, 60% to the stomach and 30% to the colon. I don’t want to think that both my father and my brother died of colon cancer.

I think they will let me go home only after Easter. I can’t even get out of bed now. Didn’t eat anything for two days. I am being fed and hydrated through drips.

I am sick of looking (no – from Spitalul Floreasca) at the stadium of my youth. It became a ruin.” – he said.

As a player, Cornel Dinu won 6 league titles and two Romanian Cups with Dynamo Bucharest. In the Romanian national team, he collected 75 tackles and scored 7 times.

As a coach, Cornel Dinu can boast of a championship and two cups of Romania with “Dynamo” Bucharest.
