In a social media post, the Red-Whites PAE announced their “divorce” from the Colombian midfielder.

The corresponding statement from the Piraeus team reads:

“PAE OLYMPIAKOS and James Rodriguez have decided to end their partnership. Hames will always be a part of our club and a member of the red and white family. We thank him for the offer and wish him every success in the future.”

And the Colombian star herself said goodbye to the fans of the Piraeus team with a post on Instagram.

“I would like to thank you all for the time we spent together. Although our paths diverge, I feel that I will always be a member and a welcome guest of the Olympiakos family and the great port of Piraeus. I wish Olympiacos all the best and success in the future.”

Türkiye leaving?

Today’s report from the Spanish sports newspaper AS reports that James is likely to continue his career in Turkey.

According to Spanish media reports, his agent Jorge Mendez has begun trying to find him another club, with Besiktas and Galatasaray already showing interest.

Regarding the reasons for his departure from Olympiacos, the Spanish newspaper reports that “he did not offer him an extension for two reasons: firstly, his high contract, and secondly, the fact that the striker did not live up to the expectations that existed for to him”.

Hames was acquired by Olympiacos last September as a free transfer from Al Rayyan. In the red and white jersey, he scored five goals and six assists in 24 games.
