
The Cypriot Police responded negatively to the EPO’s request for a final Greek Cup in Nicosia and GSP, as reported today (December 4) by the Cyprus News Agency. According to a widespread statement, the Cypriot police asked EL.AS. “hazard data and information” match and emphasizes that “the information received is such as to make the police not advocate for the match in question to be held in Cyprus”.
The Cypriot police announcement is as follows:
“The arrival of the Cypriot police in connection with the request to host the Greek Cup final at the GSP stadium.
With regard to the above question, the Cypriot police inform that they cannot respond positively to the request of the Hellenic Football Federation to host the Greek Cup Final in Cyprus.
The issue occupied the relevant police departments from the first moment the case came to light. To this end, the Greek police officially requested data and information about the danger of the football match in question. The information received is such as to force the police not to advocate holding the match in question in Cyprus.
It is noted that the specific decision of the Cypriot police was taken solely for the purpose of maintaining public order and the safety of citizens.”
