A two-time World and European champion in the 100m and 200m freestyle, the CS Dinamo Bucharest-registered athlete continues his sensational journey from the National Swimming Championships in Otopeni.
David Popovich finished first in the 50-meter butterfly and managed to break the national record. The 18-year-old athlete finished the competition in 23.74 seconds.
The podium was completed by Denis Laurean Popescu (23.95 seconds) and Andrei Mircha Angel (24.40 seconds).
In the heats, David Popovich broke the national record (23.96 seconds) of Daniel Martin (24.09 seconds), set in 2019 at the competition in Barcelona.
