Max Verstappen wins in Australia – Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso on the podium
The race in Australia was littered with several stoppages and safety car entries following crashes. The icing on the cake was the red flag (second of the day) with three laps to go in the Grand Prix (lap 55 of 58).
A restart followed, but incidents were not avoided: Carlos Sainz Jr. touched Fernando Alonso, and from that moment on the track began a new chaos.
A third red flag and after a good few minutes of uncertainty it was decided that the last lap would be under the Safety Car and the race started according to the standings until the last incidents.
