
Daniil Medvedev was the first to qualify for the finals of the ATP tournament in Miami, beating his compatriot Karen Khachanov (16 ATP) 7-6(5), 3-6, 6-3 on Friday.

Medvedev, the fourth favorite of the tournament, had a difficult task with Khachanov.
The first set was played evenly, and the former world number one managed to win in a tie-break after 7-5.
Karen Khachanov controlled the second set, leading 3-0, and it looked like the deciding set would go to the last minute.
In the third set, the former first racket of the world did not give much hope to Khachanov, who tried to recover after 4-1, qualifying in the last act of the tournament.
The game lasted two hours and 19 minutes.
For Danilo Medvedev, this is the fifth final in 2023, he triumphed in Rotterdam, Doha and Dubai and suffered a defeat in Indian Wells.
Medvedev will face world number one winner Carlos Alcázar of Spain and Italy’s Yannick Sinner (11 ATP) in the ATP Finals in Miami on Sunday.
The Miami Masters takes place from March 22 to April 2 on hard, has a total prize fund of $8.8 million, and the current champion and main favorite is Carlos Alcaraz.
