U Craiova 1948 – Petrolul Ploești 0-1, Super League play-off

Thanks to a new investor in the team and high salaries, the players coached by Florin Pärvu met the management’s expectations.

Despite having less ball possession than Olten, the Ploiesti team managed to keep all three points from the most difficult trip.

The only goal of the game was scored by captain Valentyn Cyku in the 68th minute, firing into the far corner from inside the penalty area after a counterattack following a misplaced pass by Dragos Alba in his own half.

Petrolul Ploiesti scores 24 points and climbs to first place in the play-out standings, ahead of Craiova 1948 by one point.
