Moroccan soccer player Sofiane Kiine was taken to the hospital after “taking off” his car and crashing into a gym in Liege (Belgium), the Daily Mail reports.

Sofiane Kiine destroyed the gym in Liege

OH Leuven player (11th in Belgium’s first league), Kiyine lost control of the wheel at a roundabout, flew out of the car and crashed into the wall of a building.

There were children in the hall, but a moment before the accident, they went to the changing rooms and no one else was injured.

Kyine was hospitalized after the accident on Thursday evening, her condition is stable.

“The club has learned that Sofiane Kiine was involved in a serious car accident near Liege last night. Kyina was taken to the intensive care unit of the nearest hospital, where further examinations are being carried out. There is no threat to life. Fortunately, other vehicles and people were not injured in the accident.

The club is awaiting further details regarding the exact circumstances of the accident before providing a further response. We wish Sofian a speedy recovery.” said a spokesperson for the OH Leuven club.

Belgian authorities are investigating the incident. The speed limit on the road Sofiane Kiine was driving is 90 km/h.

The Louis Melin gym hosts mini-football, basketball and gymnastics, but is likely to be unavailable for some time due to damage caused by the accident.

25-year-old Kiine was born in Belgium and started his career in “Standard” Liège. He also played for “Chievo”, “Lazio”, “Salernitana” and “Venice”. Sofian has represented Morocco’s U20 and U23 teams, but is yet to make his senior debut.
