Sorana Kirstea, an impressive rise to 33 places in the WTA ranking

Our athlete entered the top four players of Miami, having achieved the second result in her career (after the Rogers Cup 2013 final).

The points accumulated in recent weeks will help Sorani climb up the world rankings, and she is currently ranked 41st in WTA Live (with 1,218 points), up no less than 33 places from the last published ranking.

If she reaches the grand final (she will have to beat the winner of the match between Kateryna Alexandrova and Petra Kvitova), Sorana will score 1478 points and will be 28th in WTA Live.

If she wins the competition, the athlete from Tirgovishte would score 1,828 points and rise to 20th place in the world (this would be the best rating in her career – on August 12, 2013, she was 21st). Thus, Sorana would overtake Simona Halep, who currently has 1,565 points (26th place in the WTA Live ranking).
