Koke faces 16 years in prison

Sergio Contreras “Coke” (age 39) is currently on parole effective July 2021 after serving one year and eight months in prison.

The former OM player was arrested during a massive anti-drug operation in 2019, during which a ton of hashish, weapons and large sums of money were found.

A new trial will now take place in Malaga on Monday, March 27. Coque and 17 other people, including his brother and partner, will be questioned, according to the Spanish press. The defendants, who held an important position in this case, face a sentence of 16 years in prison and a fine of 150,000 euros.

The other defendants, depending on the degree of involvement, are charged with harming the health of citizens or possessing weapons, and face imprisonment for a term of four years to six months and up to one year. It seems that Sergio Contreras “Coque” would just be one of the leaders of the criminal network and would be related to his brother, who was also arrested, according to News.ro.

Raised in Malaga, Sergio Contreras “Koke” played for Olympique Marseille, Sporting Lisbon, Aris Thessaloniki, Houston Dynamo (USA), Rayo Vallecano, FC Baku (Azerbaijan), Jan Regensburg (D2 Germany), Blooming Santa Cruz (Bolivia) , North East United FC (India) and Veria NPS (D3 Greece). He ended his competitive career in August 2016.
