Iga Svyatek, a complex called Olena Rybakina and an injury that may not have actually happened

World No. 1 Iga has already been beaten twice this season by Olena Rybakina (at the Australian Open in the fourth round and in the semifinals at Indian Wells), and former coach Sveontek talks about the complex he leads on the WTA, won against the player representing Kazakhstan .

In addition, Artur publishes an unexpected version of the injury that prevented Iga from participating in the WTA 1000 competition in Miami.

“We don’t know whether Iga really has health problems (no ribs), or she is looking for an excuse for her defeat (not in the semifinals in Indian Wells with Rybakina). Let it not be some kind of self-defense,” Shostachko said, as quoted by Sport.pl.

“I don’t think it can be a problem with the ribs, but only with some muscles in that area,” adds the coach on the subject of his former student’s injury.

Artur Shostachko believes that the wear and tear of Dubai and Doha is taking its toll, and that it is good that he has finally given up on the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami: “The season is long, there will be other important tournaments.”

In addition, the former Polish coach recalls the recent rivalry with Olena Rybakina.

Artur even talks about the “helplessness” of the world leader when it comes to matches with Rybakina.

Elena has many strengths, and the performance of an athlete representing Kazakhstan makes Iza feel uncomfortable.

“This could become a curse for Iga’s career if Elena continues to work at this level. I am not in a hurry to conclude that Rybakina will dominate women’s tennis, but there are players against whom it is difficult to find a solution,” concludes the Polish technician, referring to the rivalry between Sviatek and Rybakina.

In matches with Rybakina, the Pole leads with a score of 2:1, and the victory of the WTA leader will take place in 2021 in Ostrava.
