Thomas Tuchel replaced Julian Nagelsmann at Bayern Munich

Bayern, who are through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League where they will face Manchester City in a two-legged tie, have not had a great run in the league, sitting in second place, one point behind Borussia Dortmund.

Having suffered a defeat in the last match against Leverkusen (2-1), Julian Nagelsmann blamed people inside the club, saying that they had disturbed the atmosphere in the dressing room with certain “leaks”.

“Bayern parted ways with coach Julian Nagelsmann. CEO Oliver Kahn and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic made the decision after consulting with chairman Herbert Heiner. The new coach is Thomas Tuchel,” the Bavarians announced.

Tuchel will make his debut on April 1 in Munich in a derby against Bundesliga leader Borussia Dortmund.
