Roy Hodgson, the new manager of Crystal Palace

The 75-year-old former England international replaces the sacked Patrick Vieira on Friday, returning to Selhurst Park almost two years after leaving the club, writes the Daily Mail.

From September 2017 to May 2021, Hodgson spent almost four years at Crystal Palace, the club where he started his career.

Under his leadership, the Eagles finished 11th, 12th, 14th and 14th before he was replaced by Vieira after his contract expired.

The former Arsenal midfielder finished 12th and reached the FA Cup semi-finals at the end of last season before being sacked on Friday after a 12-match winless run.
