Southampton, another major loss in the Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur, who were in 4th place before the game against Southampton, came very close to winning the last place, but lost the draw in extra time.

The team coached by Antonio Conte had a very good first half, and Pedro Porro opened the scoring for the visitors in the extra time of the first half (min. 45+1). It was the first Premier League goal for a player brought in from Sporting Lisbon.

In the first leg of the second half, Southampton restored parity through Scotsman Che Adams (min. 46).

The visitors took the lead again thanks to Harry Kane. The most important scorer in the history of Tottenham scored 2:1, managing to finish after a pass from Dejan Kulusevski (min. 65).

In addition, a quarter of an hour before the end, “Tottenham” doubled its advantage when Ivan Perisic scored.

Two minutes later, Theo Walcott reduced the home team’s deficit (77 minutes), and in the third minute of added time, James Ward-Prowse scored from 11 meters into the home team’s goal (90+3).

“Saints” can boast a very good record against the top teams of the Premier League. Southampton drew at Old Trafford (0-0), won at Stamford Bridge (1-0 with Chelsea) and drew with leaders Arsenal (0-0).
