Nicolae Stanciu is among the 26 tricolors called up by coach Edi Iordenescu, with the Wuhan Three City midfielder sending a message ahead of qualifying.

“I don’t know if this is a new beginning. This is a new campaign, we’re starting out pretty confident. We all have a goal – to enter the EURO, and I am very optimistic that we will succeed.

I said it and never shied away. Quite an accessible group, considering that we could have lost to much stronger teams. This is a group from which we can and should qualify and at the end of the campaign in November I hope to celebrate qualification together.

Next year will be 8 years (since the last qualification for the EURO – none), I want and know that all the boys, the whole group, we want it, to go to the European Championship.

I think we have all reached great football maturity and we have already managed to form a united group with great quality and now we just have to show it on the pitch.

(No. Are you like a family?) Yes, that’s the feeling, and I felt it in September in our matches. From my point of view, we have a group of exceptional quality. We are a much more cohesive group, everyone is pulling for the same victory.

We are much more mature, we understand each other much better and we have to show it on the pitch, especially when we wear this shirt.

I am very, very confident that we will be able to qualify.” – Nicolae Stanchiu reported, as.ro reports.
