Charles Leclerc was fined ten places on the starting grid of the Grand Prix in Saudi Arabia, reports Gazzetta dello Sport. The second stage of the Formula 1 calendar will take place this weekend at the circuit in Jeddah.

According to the quoted source, mechanics had to replace some components on the Leclerc single-seater’s engine, and this pulls the suspension up 10 places from the grid.

“Of course, the penalty is not good news, but it is not the end of the season. Let’s see what will happen in Jeddah and what will be the final result even with this penalty. But don’t think for a second that this news can demotivate him” – Fred Wasserhead of Scuderia Ferrari.

In the first Grand Prix of the new season (Bahrain), Charles Leclerc had to retire due to problems: he was betrayed by a single-seater Ferrari when he was running in third place (on lap 40, out of 57).

The Jeddah Grand Prix will take place on Sunday from 19:00 and can be watched live on Digisport, Orange Sport and Prima Sport.

Regardless of his result in Saturday’s qualifying (starting at 19:00), Charles Leclerc will start 10 places lower in the Saudi Arabian MP standings.
