Emma Reducanu beat Iga Sviatek in Indian Wells

The leader of the WTA hierarchy needed an hour and 24 minutes to overcome Emma (77 WTA), the score 6-3, 6-1.

Next for Svientek is a match with Sorana Kirstea, after our athlete unexpectedly eliminated Caroline Garcia (the 5th favorite, winner of the Tournament of Champions).

Know:

  • Redukanu did not celebrate three consecutive victories at the WTA tournament in Seoul, which took place in September 2022.
  • At the current tournament in Indian Wells, Emma defeated Danka Kovinic, Magda Lynette and Beatrice Haddad Maia.
  • Thanks to the course from the tournament in the Californian desert, Reducanu will rise in the world ranking (he ranks 72nd in the WTA Live ranking).
  • Sorana Kirstya and Iga Svyatek have previously met only once at the WTA tournament: at the Australian Open 2022. Then the Pole won in three sets with a score of 5-7, 6-3, 6-3.
