Daniil Medvedev knocked out Alexander Zverev in Indian Wells – the Russian became the 2023 champion in Rotterdam, Doha and Dubai

Having many medical problems, Daniil Medvedev (6 ATP) stayed on the court and defeated Oleksandr Zverev (14 ATP) in 3 sets, at the end of the match, which lasted 3 hours and 10 minutes.

In the first set, Zverez started better and also did not make any unforced errors, so he won the first set on a tie-break.

In the second set, Daniil Medvedev came back from a 1-3 loss and kept pace with the former world number two.

An hour and 15 minutes later, the Russian won the second act on a tie-break and turned the match into a decisive corner.

In the third set, the Russian Medvedev controlled the game, but did not get rid of medical problems. However, he went on to claim his 17th straight win at the track, a win that saw him into the quarters.
