During her career, she won four Grand Slam tournaments and was the world leader. She has played very little of late and the news that she is pregnant has temporarily taken her out of the WTA. Naomi Osaka will register a spectacular drop in the world ranking after the tournament in Miami.

Naomi Osaka will leave the top 300 places of the WTA ranking

The last notable result of Naomi Osaka at the world tournament was last year’s surprise final in Miami (WTA 1000 tournament). She was defeated by Iga Svyatek (6-4, 6-0), but received 650 points for her performance.

Those 650 points will soon be deducted from the Japanese woman’s dowry in the world rankings, as Osaka is temporarily off the circuit due to her pregnancy.

She’s announced that she’ll come back stronger after giving birth (she’s even been spotted training with Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi recently), but by then Naomi will have dropped significantly in the world rankings.

In the WTA Live rankings, Osaka now has 847 points, in 67th place. In the next period, she will take away 650 points from last year in Miami, and the Japanese will be left with only 197.

With the remaining points, Osaka will go just below the likes of Katinka von Deichmann and Irene Burillo Escorihuela – both currently tied (198 points each) at 304th and 305th in the WTA rankings.

Of course, depending on the results of the next period, changes can be made, but one thing is certain: Naomi Osaka will be just outside the top 300 WTA places.

So far, 25-year-old Osaka has won four Grand Slams in her career: Australian Open (2019, 2021) and US Open (2018, 2020). She was the world leader, climbing to the first step on January 28, 2019.

He collected $21,177,252 in tennis prizes alone.
