​Grand Slam finalist Sara Errani missed the main draw in Indian Wells, the Italian losing to Aranta Rus (130 WTA), 7-6(1), 6-3, in the final round of qualifying.

Sarah Errani was eliminated in qualifying at Indian Wells

A former world No. 5 (May 20, 2013), Errani reached the Grand Slam finals (Roland Garros 2012) and the US Open semifinals (also in 2012) during her career.

At 35, Errani is trying to get back to the top of the rankings, but is currently only ranked 97th in the world.

In qualifying in Indian Wells, the Italian was seeded 14th.

Errani, who was born in Bologna, collected $13,904,473 in tennis prize money alone during her career.

Indian Wells will be held from March 6 to 19 on hard, with 96 players in each of the two main draws. The contest offers $8,800,000 each for men and women. Titled champions – Taylor Fritz and Iga Svyatek.
