Teams with a large number of spectators will receive bonuses

According to eAD representative Orlando Nicoare, an agreement on a new three-year contract, which will have certain viewing bonuses, will be reached in the near future.

FCSB, Rapid or Universitatea Craiova could receive significant sums additionally, as a result of spectators in the stadium in front of the TV.

“We have them for one more season and maybe three more after that. It does not renew automatically. Today, we are in an advanced stage of expansion. The system is determined by the Federation, of course, in agreement with the League, following our consultations. I don’t think anything will change.

A year ago we made a proposal to continue with an increased amount based on clear criteria based on the audience both at the level of spectators in stadiums and at the level of television audiences, and in the current context of the market, the economy, in the event that one of the cabal players quit football, this is a good and fair decision for Super League teams.

Our offer includes an ongoing payment plus an additional payment of €100,000 per season for teams that achieve certain stadium attendance and television audience criteria. Bonuses. That’s 28.5 million euros plus VAT, to which are added the costs of producing the matches, which cost several million euros. We reached almost €33 million plus VAT.” – the representative of the Super League rights holder told Fanatik.
