FC “Barcelona” is accused of corruption

The Catalan club is accused of making huge payments to the firm of the former referee, who for a long time was the vice-president of the Technical Committee of Referees of Spain.

The complaint also includes former president Josep Maria Bartomeu and part of the management, as well as Henriques Negreira, who received a total of more than seven million euros through his company Dasnil, writes AS.com.

After Barcelona severed relations with Negreira’s firm, its revenues dropped significantly and the Catalan club became its only client.

Prosecutors believe they have enough evidence to consider the crime continuing, as the payments took place between 2001 and July 2018.

Although started under Joan Laporta during his first term as president, it avoids accusations because the facts are past.

The courts in Barcelona will decide whether to accept the prosecutor’s complaint.
