UEFA will refund Liverpool fans ticket money

The Continental Football Forum will compensate 19,168 Liverpool fans who arrived in Paris on May 28, 2022 and spent between €56 and €653 on tickets.

UEFA will therefore pay the English club 3.4 million euros, which will be responsible for distributing the money to the fans, a gesture welcomed by local fan organisations.

The 2021-22 Champions League final was delayed by 36 minutes after thousands of Liverpool fans were unable to make it to the Stade de France.

French police filmed the use of tear gas against fans, including women and children. Although Uefa initially blamed the chaos on the English club’s fans, the continental football body later apologized after publishing an independent report that found the European forum was largely responsible.

In the middle of last month, Liverpool FC asked the European Football Union to take specific measures to avoid new lapses in security around the stadiums, writes Agerpres.
