Cosmin Kontra has been appointed coach of Damac SC, the Saudi Arabian Championship club announced on Tuesday.

The former coach of the Romanian national team (2017-2019) Kontra has signed a contract until the end of the 2023-2024 season. He replaced Croatian Kresimir Rezic on the technical bench.
“Damats” is in 9th place in the tournament table, having scored 22 points in 19 matches.
On Saturday, at the 20th stage of the Saudi Arabian championship, “Contra” will make its debut against the “Al-Tai” team, coached by Mirel Redoi (7th place, 25 points).
Cosmin Kontra (47) has also coached Polytechnic Timisoara, Fuenlabrada, Petrolul Ploiesti, Getafe, Guangzhou R&F, Alcorcon, Dinamo Bucharest and Al Ittihad during his career.
