The Rapid suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat against Hermannstadt on Saturday night and Adrian Mutu says it was the attitude of the players that made the difference.

Rapidul, another failure at home in the Super League

For the first time in 4 months, Rapidul did not score in a match at the Julesti Stadium.

The last time this happened was in the Romanian Cup match with Farul Constanta, which lost to Giulesti 2:0.

At the end of the loss against Hermannstadt, Adrian Mutu stated that the reason for his team’s defeat was the arrogance with which they treated the opposition and a very poor performance in the first half.

“In the first half we played very badly, we had no rhythm, we made the wrong decisions, we were arrogant, irresponsible and superficial. It cost us. We didn’t deserve to win tonight.

It was okay to change the starting formula because I was coming after three matches in one week, with a tough trip to Botosani.

Apart from Ongenda, who needed minutes, the others remained indebted to me, to the public, to us.

Our arrogance cost us. We entered the field brazenly, as if we had already won. In football, that’s what you get paid for.

We had a good second half, but we didn’t deserve to win. Football taught us an important lesson.

The only positive is the evolution of Ignat, who played very well.

Dugandzic must be angry. I was sure he would miss because it wasn’t our night and football doesn’t give you when you don’t deserve it.

He has to change the way he plays from time to time because if you hit the same way, you are predictable.

We are not going to touch Dugandzic, he entered in the second half. We won the first half.” – said the coach of Rapida, reports Digi Sport.
