Giannis Antetokounmpo travels to New York today to undergo more tests on his injured wrist, according to ESPN.
The Greek Freak was injured last Thursday in a Milwaukee Bucks game in Chicago against the Bulls, and initial tests were relatively reassuring as they showed no bone problems.
Giannis was a regular at the Salt Lake City All-Star Game, where he captained the winning team, but played only 20 seconds, took the first shot, then fouled quickly and walked out at a risk. For the same reason, he refused to participate in the skill competition, which he was supposed to participate on Saturday with his brothers Thanasis and Alex. His place was taken by Jrue Holiday.
Milwaukee has eleven straight wins and is second in the Eastern Conference with a 41-17 record, breathtakingly behind the leaders Boston Celtics. The Bucks are now waiting to learn more about the status of the two-time NBA MVP, as his possible absence for a significant period of time will hurt the Reindeer’s chances of claiming the title.
The Bucks return to play after the All-Star break on Friday, Feb. 24 (an early Saturday morning for Greece) hosting the Miami Heat.
