Ana Bohdan / Angelina Gabueva (Romania / Russia) were eliminated in the first round of the doubles tournament in Dubai (category WTA 1000).

Bohdan and Gabuyeva (wild card beneficiaries) were beaten by the doubles of Miu Kato / Aldila Suzyadi (Japan / Indonesia), score 7-6 (3), 6-3. The game lasted one hour and 37 minutes.

• Ana Bohdan and Angelina Gabuyeva will receive a joint check for $7,900 and one WTA doubles point each for their participation in the WTA main draw in Dubai.
