Martinez’s 2022 World Cup gloves up for auction

Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, one of the top Argentine players at the World Cup in Qatar, will auction off the gloves he used in the 2022 World Cup to support the fight against childhood cancer.

An Aston Villa player working with the Argentine Pediatric Foundation initiative is participating in a fundraising campaign for the oncology department of the Garrajan Children’s Hospital in Buenos Aires.

The World Champion posted a video of himself signing gloves to be auctioned on March 3: “Here I am signing my gloves from the World Cancer Staff Championship at Garrahan Hospital.

I hope to visit them one day,” Martinez, who is one of three nominees for the FIFA Best Goalkeeper Award, told Didu.
