
Rafael van der Vaart (40), a former Real Madrid or Tottenham player, is a constant presence at Rapida women’s handball matches, as his fiancee Estavanna Polman plays for Giulesti.
Last week, the Dutchman also attended a game played by the Rapid football team against Kraiova 1948 with a score of 1:2. Van der Vaart was surprised in the stands, and after the game he stayed with Rapid officials for a discussion, during which he was also “introduced” to traditional Romanian drinks, brandy and palinka.
The former Netherlands international was “knocked out” by the strength of the drinks he tried and told the Liga Digisport show, which was also attended by Estavanna Polman, and launched into a frothy dialogue that drew laughs.
