Jacqueline Christian reached the quarterfinals of the ITF W60 tournament in Eitenkirchen (Germany), defeating the Slovenian Tamara Zidansek (ranked 118 in the world, the main favorite).

Our athlete defeated the semi-finalist of Roland Garros-2021 after two hours and 30 minutes of play with a score of 5-7, 6-3, 6-3.

Jacqueline (232 WTA) will fight for a place in the semi-finals with the Belgian Yanina Wickmayer (259 WTA).

Kristian also qualified for the doubles quarterfinals in Eitenkirchen, where she teams up with Georgia’s Ekaterin Gorgodze (a former teammate of Iryna Bara). They will meet the pair of Magali Kempen (Belgium) / Ksenia Knoll (Switzerland).

Romania is also represented at the tournament in Germany by Iryna Bara (201 WTA), who will play against Switzerland’s Ilena In-Albon (133 WTA) in the 1/8 finals.
