Qatari investors and the richest Briton in the race for Manchester United

Three months ago, after parting with Cristiano Ronaldo, the American owners of the English club announced their readiness to sell the “Old Trafford” group.

Since then, there have been rumors about the future investor, such names as David Beckham, the Spaniard Amancio Ortega, Sir Jim Ratcliffe or the Amazon company have been circulating.

Currently, the club is waiting until Friday for offers, accompanied by confirmation of the availability of funds, and, according to the British press, there will be five possible buyers, writes the Daily Mail.

A group of private investors from Qatar, unrelated to the owners of Paris Saint-Germain and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Britain’s richest man, are ready to submit offers, but offers from the US, Asia and Saudi Arabia are also expected.

After a period of analysis, the two or three best offers will be selected and prospective buyers will be given access to the exact situation at the club at the moment.

The Glazers have owned Manchester United for 18 years, paying around £790m to become majority shareholders in 2005, and could sell the club for around £6bn.
