The announcement comes two months after Roberto Martinez announced his retirement following their group stage exit from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
At the age of 37, Tedesco has signed a contract that runs until the 2026 World Cup.
The coach’s contract expired in September 2022 after he was released by RB Leipzig. According to Reuters, the Bundesliga team must pay him one million euros.
Tedesco also coached Erzgebirge Aue, Schalke 04 and Spartak Moscow.
