In the match between the Lakers and the Oklahoma City Thunder in Los Angeles, LeBron James became the best scorer in NBA history.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar scored 38,387 points, a record set in 1984, eight months before LeBron James was born.

Before the game started, LeBron needed 36 points to pass Kareem, and he did it with ten seconds left in the third quarter against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The struggling Lakers lost 133-130 to the Thunder as LeBron finished with 38 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.

The Los Angeles Lakers are 13th in the Western Conference (out of 15) with 25 wins and 30 losses.

LeBron James has been in the NBA for 20 seasons, and Wednesday’s game was the 1,410th of his career.
