Dan Petrescu upset after CFR Cluj v FCSB 0-1

The reigning champions’ coach said a draw would have been fair given the way the game unfolded.

“Of course, I’m upset. The first half, in which FCSB was better, had more chances. I thought it was a Slavia Prague match. And they jumped on us, attacked us, surprised us with pressing, and we were soft, unrecognizable. We had a bit of a chat at half time and looked good in the second half.

I don’t remember a single chance for FCSB, but if we didn’t put it in the goal, they scored a goal from nothing, simple! This is football. We had Yeboah alone with the keeper, if Deak didn’t care we would have won. Always close matches with FCSB.

I say FCSB was better in the first half and we were better in the second. The draw was fair. In the first matches of 2023, we did not score, but now we scored in the 90th minute.

Are we vulnerable now? We are moving forward. There are 16 more games to go, we are still in first place, but I understand that 0:0 was better, including for morale” – Dan Petrescureports DigiSport.

In -11 degrees Celsius, FCSB controlled the first half of the 24th Super League game and squandered great chances to open the scoring.

Simone Skuffe made some exceptional saves and Stefan Tirnovanu responded in the second half.

The goalkeeper of FCSB resolutely intervened in Yeboa’s moments, and in the end the visitors broke through Malcom Ejuma (min. 88).
