The Garage 56 team also includes Jimmie Johnson (seven-time NASCAR champion) and Mike Rockenfeller (2010 Le Mans winner).
Jenson said it was a dream come true for him to race at Le Mans with his close friends.
“As a racing fan, I’ve always dreamed of racing certain cars, with and against certain drivers, and competing in certain events. In June, those dreams will come true in one event, when I will have the opportunity to bring NASCAR to the world stage with my friends Jimmy and ‘Rocky’ for the 100th anniversary of the world’s most prestigious race.” – Jenson Button.
The team will run a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Next Gen that has been tuned and adapted for the event.
After retiring from F1 in 2017, Jenson Button tried his luck in the Super GT GT500 championship and won the title in 2018.
