​Arsenal has agreed with Chelsea on the permanent transfer of Italian midfielder Jorginho, journalist Fabrizio Romano reports.

The Gunners will pay £12m for the Brazilian international, who will sign a contract until 2024 with the option of a further season.

Born in Imbituba, Jorge Luis Frello Filho started his professional football career with Hellas Verona and also played for Sambonifacese, Napoli and Chelsea in his career.

Jorginho won the Europa League (2018/19), Champions League (2020/21), European Super Cup (2021) and Club World Cup (2021) with Chelsea and won the European Championship with Italy (2020).

Arsenal are top of the Premier League table, five lengths behind champions Manchester City.
