The mayor said that the referee Andrii Chivulete made the right decision and believes that Sepsi should win the game 3-0. He also shared a video where Olten fans can be heard cheering.

“The way extremist “fans” make a mockery of football and sports with their behavior of unconditional hatred towards Hungarians is intolerable and unacceptable. However, today, for the first time, a correct decision was finally made, which I consider very important and correct: the referee stopped the match due to anti-Hungarian speeches. Further, this matter will be considered by the Disciplinary Committee of the Federation on the basis of the referee’s report. Sepsis – U Craiova 1948, finished after 26 minutes

First, Sunday evening’s match at Sfantu Gheorghe between OSK Sepsi Sfântu Gheorghe and U Craiova 1948 was stopped for 10 minutes by referee Andrii Čivulete and the players sent to the dressing room after xenophobic chants from the stands.

The stadium announcer repeatedly announced on the amplifier station that the game would be stopped if the stands continued to shout in violation of the regulations.

After the restart, the game was stopped for good in regulation after just two minutes as the chants in the stands continued.

The regulation on xenophobic chants states that the team responsible for the incidents will lose the match 3-0, and if the fans of both teams are at fault, then both teams will lose by the same score.

Under the threat of defeat in the match, Olten made a statement condemning the attitude of the fans. In an explanation published on social networks, the formation under the patronage of Adrian Mititelou claims that the management team is responsible for the organization and demonstrations of the fans.
