United fulfilled a simple formality in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final by beating Nottingham away.
Rashford opened the scoring after just 6 minutes, Weghorst added in the 45th minute and Bruno Fernandes closed the scoring in the 89th minute.
In the 23rd minute, with the score 1-0 in favor of Manchester United, the hosts had a goal disallowed by VAR for offside.
In the other semi-final, Newcastle beat Southampton 1-0 away. The answer will come in a week.
Manchester United have won the League Cup 5 times, the last time in 2017.
