Denmark, the defending champions, defeated Hungary 40-23 (21-12) and Spain beat Norway 35-34 (12-13, 25-25, 29-29) after four overtimes, News.ro reported.
In the last two games of the quarter-finals, France will play Germany and Sweden will play Egypt. The semi-finals will be held on Friday, and the final of the 2023 World Cup on Sunday.
The Romanian national team has not qualified for the final world tournament since 2011, when it took 19th place.
