
One of the highlights of the start of the year in the sporting world came during the men’s doubles third round match at the Australian Open.
In the third set of the match between the pairs of Jan Zielinski – Hugo Nys on the one hand and Rajiv Ram – Joe Salisbury, there was a rare point won by the Polish-Monegasque team.
After a high ball, Rajeev Ram looked like he was going to seal the point with a very powerful shot that sent the ball high and then into the corner of the arena, well beyond the face-off line on the right side.
Although it seemed unlikely that he would succeed, Hugo Nice ran after the ball and managed, in the last resort, to retrieve it, throwing the racket out of his hand to hit the ball.
