The left winger played 129 matches for the Spanish national team and scored 130 goals. Lara was part of the team that won silver at the 2014 European Championships and the 2019 World Championships.
At club level, González Ortega won the Danish Cup (2017), French Championship (2013, 2014), French Cup (2013, 2015) and played in the EGF Cup final (2013).
