The Portuguese captained the team coached by Rudy Garcia in the first official match and stayed on the field until the end of the game.
The only goal was scored by Brazilian Anderson Talisca in the 31st minute, with a header from Al-Sulaihim’s cross.
Cristiano Ronaldo was active throughout the game and missed several times, either hitting over the crossbar or being blocked by the Al Etifaq keeper.
Al-Nassr lead the way in Saudi Arabia, one point ahead of Al-Hilal, and await CR7’s first goal away to Al-Ittihad in the next round.
