Messi vs Ronaldo tomorrow, in Saudi Arabia

Tomorrow, Riyadh will host one of the most popular and now amazing matches between footballers, where Lionel Messi will face Cristiano Ronaldo at the King Fahd Stadium.

In an exhibition match, Paris Saint-Germain will face a mixed All-Star Game squad featuring players from two Saudi clubs, Al-Nasr and Al-Hilal.

Ronaldo moved athletically and literally to Riyadh after the World Cup, signing a gigantic contract with Al Nasr that earns him $200 million a year.

The Portuguese football star will make his debut in Saudi Arabia tomorrow, after the English Football Association served a two-leg ban for knocking a mobile phone out of a supporter’s hands after a match between Manchester United and Everton last April.

The 37-year-old striker was introduced to Al Nasr fans in a celebratory atmosphere, but many remain skeptical whether he can regain his form “after a disappointing first half of the season for United and disappointing (ps) for the same ) World Cup,” commented the Associated Press.

To promote the friendly match, Turki al-Sheikh, the councilor of the royal court and the head of the Saudi Arabian Entertainment Authority, organized an auction where a VIP ticket for the match was put up for sale.

The auction started with 1 million Saudi Riyals (245,000 euros) and ended with 10 million rials (2.4 million euros). The ticket was obtained by Saudi real estate tycoon Mushref al-Ghamdi.

This could be the last match between the two modern giants of world football, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
