Diana Schneider, number 106 WTA, managed to knock her opponent out of her mind. Points scored by a player from Russia were accompanied by loud screams that disturbed Maria Sakkari.
When Schneider tied the score at 5 in the 2nd set and roared, Sakkari approached the chair umpire threateningly, asking him to take action.
“If he screams in front of me again. If he yells in front of me again… No, no, no… If he yells again… Yells at me… I’ll talk to a supervisor,” Maria Sakkari told the head umpire.
