The weather has played havoc with plans for the Australian Open, with several matches from Tuesday being postponed to Wednesday, January 18.

Due to the heat and then the rain, several games at AO were postponed to Wednesday

At first it was not played for many hours due to the heat in Melbourne and then it rained. Only three indoor arenas (Rod Laver Arena, John Cain Arena and Margaret Court Arena) could play without problems.

According to Eurosport, the Australian organizers had to postpone several matches to Wednesday, including the match between Irina Begu (27th seed) and Elizabeth Mandlik (129th WTA – USA).

The match was to be the third on court 14 of the Melbourne Park complex.

As a result, six women’s singles games have been postponed.

Australian Open 2023 will be held from January 16 to 29. The champions of the title were Ashley Barty (now retired from sports) and Rafael Nadal.
