The match between Montpellier and Nantes was interrupted for more than ten minutes after the home fans decided to protest against the players following a poor performance in the final period.
Montpellier fans, pyrotechnic show
Disgruntled fans, especially after the previous 1-6 defeat in Nice, started throwing torches and smoke grenades onto the pitch in the 19th minute of the match before displaying banners criticizing the players.
The reaction didn’t translate into motivation for the players, who lost 3-0 and Montpellier also had two players sent off.
Romain Pitau’s side have lost three in a row and sit 15th in the Ligue 1 table with just 17 points, two above the relegation zone.
