Kevin Benavides, winner of the 2021 Dakar Rally, stopped to help Austria’s Matthias Volkner at the start of the special stage, but managed to recover 23 minutes and steal victory from South Africa’s Michael Docherty with a time of 02h21m47s over 154km. stage between Shaybah and Al-Khofuf.

Australia’s Toby Price (KTM) holds the overall lead, fifth on Saturday’s stage, just 12 seconds ahead of Kevin Benavides, while American Skyler Hawes (Husqvarna) is third, 1min 31sec off the leader.

In the overall standings, Dienes takes 28th place, ahead of the leader by 07 hours 41 minutes 58 seconds.

In Rally 2, the native goes on the 12th, at 05:00. 45 min. 26 sec. from leader Romain Dumontier.

American Mason Klein (KTM), who excelled at the start of the race, was forced to withdraw for medical reasons after several falls during the rally raid, the organizers said.

The 45th edition of the race will end on Sunday in Dammam after the last special stage of 136 km, writes Agerpres.
